Membership Categories

Ordinary member
This category is open those with an active academic or professional or non- professional interest in molecular biology, cellular biology and biotechnology. Members in this category have voting rights and can hold office.

Life member
This category is open to those with an active academic or professional or non- professional interest in molecular biology, cellular biology and biotechnology on payment of RM 400.00 in lieu of the annual subscription fee. Members in this category have voting rightsand can hold office.

Honorary member
This category is open to distinguished scientists who have rendered conspicuous service to the Society or who are eminent in the field of molecular biology, cellular biology and biotechnology. Member in this category must be nominated by three ordinary members and elected by two thirds majority of members. The membership is tenable for the lifetime of the member with no subscription fee. Honorary member can neither voter or hold office.

Student member
This category is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students or equivalent. Members in this category have voting rights and can hold office. Student membership is valid for 12 months and renewable subject to confirmation of the studentship status.

Corporate member
This category is open is open to any organization or commercial company interested in the objectives and advancement of the goals of the Society and who wishes to contribute financially to the Society. Members in this category have voting rights and can hold office.
